Mitsubishi fans were waiting for an SUV to be released and they have waited three years and their wait has been well rewarded with a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV. Pajero Sport has the same four wheel drive system as Mitsubishi Pajero. The Pajero Sport is based on the ladder-frame chassis from the Triton, and it will use 2500 cc and 3200 cc Triton engines.
The Pajero Sport will be unveiled in Russia first, and will eventually make its way to other countries including the ASEAN region. It will be offered in 5 and 7 seat variants, but we can expect the Thai model to have 7 seats, to match up to competition from Toyota, Isuzu and Ford. Pricing should also be in the THB 1 million range, topping out around THB 1.1 million.

All North American Vitaras were built at CAMI Automotive in Ingersoll, Ontario, while the North American Grand Vitaras were built in Japan, where it is the Suzuki Escudo. The 2006 model has had a structural redesign with a new ladder-boxed chassis integrated into a unibody construction. In India, it is sold by Suzuki's Indian subsidiary, Maruti Suzuki.
The 2001 model Suzuki Grand Vitara comes standard as a 2.0 Liter 4WD vehicle in New Zealand. The 2005 and onwards Grand Vitara is sold in Ecuador by Chevrolet, yet it still retains its Suzuki badges.
The vehicle is also mass produced in Iran by Iran Khodro Manufacturing Co.

Chevrolet Cruze

Revealed as the Chevrolet YGM1 concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1999, the Chevrolet Cruze derived from the Suzuki Ignis.The development of the Cruze departed from the original five-door hatchback Suzuki as a sport utility vehicle (SUV). Despite the Chevrolet branding, the YGM1, like the production car, was the work of GM's Australian arm, Holden. The YGM1 design team were given just 12 weeks to conceive the concept, styled by Peter Hughes under the direction of Holden's then chief designer, Michael Simcoe.
The revamped interior was done under the direction of Jenny Morgan-Douralis, Holden's chief colour and trim designer at the time. Along with the styling, Holden also executed most of the engineering work and were responsible for devising the "Cruze" nameplate
Powertrains are identical to those fitted to the Suzuki, with 1.3 and 1.5 litre straight-four engines offered featuring variable valve timing and coupled to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.[4] The 1.3 litre was rated at 65 kilowatts (87 hp) and 118 newton metres (87 ft·lbf),[10] while the 1.5 litre delivered to 81 kilowatts (109 hp) and 143 newton metres (105 ft·lbf).[4] Both front- (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) layouts were offered, the all-wheel system being an electronically controlled system. This system utilises an electromagnetic controlling device that receives signals from the anti-lock braking system. Both the 1.3 and 1.5 models could be specified with either FWD or AWD.

Suzuki Ignis

As a result of a venture project between General Motors (GM) and Suzuki, the Ignis, from 2001 also formed the basis of the Chevrolet Cruze sport utility vehicle (SUV). The Cruze sold throughout Japan as a Chevrolet, with Australasian-market versions badged Holden Cruze. From 2003, Suzuki of Europe adopted a lengthened version of the Cruze as the Suzuki Ignis—representing a facelift of the original Ignis.
In the same year, Subaru adopted the car as the Subaru G3X Justy, also exclusive to Europe.The Suzuki Ignis is a subcompact car that was produced by Suzuki between 2000 and 2008, replacing the Suzuki Cultus. The Cultus retailed under various names globally, notably as the Suzuki Swift. While the Swift was replaced by the Ignis in Europe and Australasia, in Japan the Ignis was actually badged Suzuki Swift.
The Ignis (HT51S) was originally manufactured as a three- and five-door hatchback, powered by a new generation of Suzuki straight-4 gasoline engines, the M family. This family featured DOHC, four valves per cylinder and variable valve timing. Displacement ranged from 1.3 to 1.5 L, and power going from 89 to 110 PS JIS (65 to 81 kW). Only the 1.3 L, detuned to 83 PS (61 kW) was available in export markets. The standard transmission is the usual five-speed manual, with a four-speed automatic gearbox.
The vehicle is available with either front or four-wheel drive, although the 4WD/auto combination was limited to the Japanese and Australian market, as it was incompatible with European emissions regulations. A minor facelift came in 2003, featuring new wheel trims, a revised grille insert and clear headlamp-mounted turn signal lenses, as opposed to the amber versions fitted to the original.

Suzuki Swift

The Generation IV Swift was introduced in 2000 as a replacement for the Suzuki Cultus. Outside of Japan, the Suzuki Ignis name was widely used. The Ignis was originally manufactured as a five-door hatchback, powered by a new generation of Suzuki straight-4 gasoline engines, the M family. Displacement ranged from 1.3 to 1.5 L, and the standard transmission was the usual five-speed manual, with an optional four-speed automatic gearbox. A shorter three-door version, with redesigned bumpers, was introduced in 2003, named Swift Sport in Japan and Ignis Sport in Europe. The Swift was marketed in the JDM (Japanese domestic market) as the Cultus and elsewhere as the Suzuki Forsa, Suzuki Jazz, Chevrolet Swift, Chevrolet Sprint and Sprint Metro, Geo and Chevrolet Metro, Pontiac Firefly, Maruti 1000, Holden Barina and Subaru Justy. Versions of the Generation II Cultus were also produced until 2007 in India and the car remains in production today in Pakistan.

The Suzuki Splash is a city car introduced in model year 2008 and jointly developed between Suzuki Motor Corporation and Opel — which will also market their version as the Agila.
